Expert Animal Training
At Lap Dog Service Dogs, LLC, we focus on providing expert dog training services tailored to you & your pet's needs. Our group programs take place 3 times a week for 6 weeks, with a focus on On-Leash Obedience and manners around other dogs & humans. We specialize in medical & psychiatric service dog training, as well as service dog and emotional support animal certification. Collaborating with an Indiana Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, we provide psychiatric evaluations for individuals who might benefit from an emotional support animal, and we can write the required letter of necessity. We then work with you and your animal companion to ensure appropriate training, allowing you to proceed with confidence alongside your canine companion. Additionally, we maintain a secure database that includes you and your ESA/SD credentials located centrally and easy to access by a QR Code printed on a personalized identification card we make for you and your ESA/SD.

A few years ago, I made the decision to go back to school to help make that dream a reality. I attended Conifer Canine Dog Trainer College in Spencer, IN, where I learned to train service animals. And the rest is history!

We provide a fully customized experience for Service Dogs. Our process begins with evaluating your needs, allowing us to find and train a dog that meets your specific requirements. Additionally, we offer training at our dog obedience academy, and we can assist in training your dog as well. If you have a self-trained dog, we can test and certify them. However, it's important to note that most dogs may not pass the rigorous standards of service dog training. Therefore, we highly recommend starting with a confident, non-aggressive dog specifically selected for the type of work desired, which can also benefit from our puppy training classes.
Our Service Dog training services are based at our home, providing a realistic training atmosphere that closely resembles where they will spend most of their time after training, reducing environmental shock when returning home.

Also provided in this package is a personalized collar with stamped ID nametag. This package will require proof of vaccinations and a letter of necessity from a healthcare provider. We work with an Indiana Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and can help with getting the required paperwork for Indiana residents. Out of state residents will need to provide letter from a provider located within their state of residence. (Limited to two animals per household).
